For centuries the City of London and its history has been dominated by men. On this walk you will hear the stories of some amazing, strong and tenacious women who worked tirelessly to make a difference and fought for many years to be accepted in the workplace and to practice their profession.
Let me guide you through the streets of London and tell you of the trailblazing women whose efforts have paved the way for generations of women who followed after them.
Stories will vary as I am always adding women to this Tour as I discover them.
Hear about the Suffragettes and the Cat and Mouse Act of 1913, Catrin Glyndwr and the Monument dedicated to her and to all women and children who suffer in war, Dame Agatha Christie and her connections with the City, the women who helped rebuild the City of London, the woman who found a cure for smallpox, the woman who improved working conditions in the Bryant & May matchstick Factory and founded one of the first Trade Unions for women and girls and many many more.
