History of HERstory - The Invisible Women in the City of London’

For centuries the City of London and its history has been dominated by men. On this walk you will hear the stories of some amazing, strong and tenacious women who worked tirelessly to make a difference and fought for many years to be accepted in the workplace and to practice their profession.

Let me guide you through the streets of London and tell you of the trailblazing women whose efforts have paved the way for generations of women who followed after them.

Stories will vary as I am always adding women to this Tour as I discover them.

Hear about the Suffragettes and the Cat and Mouse Act of 1913 and Mrs Pankhurst’s personal bodyguard who taught the Suffragettes how to defend themselves.

Dame Steve Shirley who started up her own business from her dining room table with just £6 in the 1960’s and it is now a highly respected multimillion Organisation.

What has Agatha Christie got to do with a secret courtyard behind a City of London church?

Hear about the woman who dared to publish a pamphlet on birth control and was arrested as a result.

Book a walk with me and let me tell you the stories behind these remarkable women as we walk the streets of the City of London.

My list of women grows as I research and discover more of these fabulous women and I add them as I go.
