The Old and the New- Buildings in the City of London

The City of London is home to an eclectic mix of architectural styles - from the remains of Roman buildings to the churches of Sir Christopher Wren to the distinctive skyscrapers in the Eastern part of the City - the Walkie Talkie, The Gherkin, The Cheesegrater, Lloyds of London, Horizon 22. Add in the 350 year old Temple Bar, the house built between 1597 and 1614 that defied the Great Fire of London and the Bombs from the Blitz,  and the Guildhall built in 1411 - the rather grand Town Hall for the City of London.

We will visit some of these old and new buildings and hear the stories and the history behind them.
